Bio - DR. CURTIS DEAN
Dr. Curtis Dean Educator, Musician, Vocalist, Producer, Playwriter, Soldier
Curtis Dean is a graduate of Livingstone College where he received his BS degree in Business Administration. His MBA was obtained from The University of Phoenix. And his Doctor of Business Administration at Walden University. Prior to his tenure at Livingstone he served in the United States Army Band for ten years as Noncommissioned Officer over the 7th Army Soldiers Chorus, Europe. Afterwards, he was musical director for off Broadway for more than five years. He was project manager in securing lights and sound equipment for the Varick Auditorium and is responsible for bringing the Livingstone College Recording Studio. He’s an Asst. Professor in the Division of Business. Dr. CurDean headed the United States Army ROTC Program at Livingstone College in the Fall of 2019.
Dean is known all over the world for his music and talent as musical director and scoring music for many off-broadway gospel plays such as "A Good Man Is Hard To Find", "Lord Why Do I Keep Choosing The Wrong Man", to name a few.
Most recently, Curtis has written and produced several plays, one play that toured the country with rave reviews, "Just Be a Man about It". Also the hit stage production "KARMA" What goes Around, Comes back Around” which debut at Livingstone College. As a recording artist, sharing the stage with great artists such as:, Kirk Franklin, Fred Hammond, Eugene Wilds, Cheryl Lynn, Tony Terri, Glen Jones, Cherelle, Christopher Williams, Lenny Willams, Shirley Murdock, Howard Hewitt, Melba Moore and Regina Bell among others.
Having served 10 years in the United States Army Band, he became essential to the mission of the Army Band & Chorus, Europe by lending his professional skills as the Noncommisoned Officer in Charge over the 7th Army Soldiers Chorus. His ability of a musician range as a Keyboardist/Lead Vocalistist and Drummer.
He has written and produced 3 CD’s of which 2 are on the website that consist of Curtis Dean & Tribe of Judah that have ranked number one on the Reverb Nation Website for more than 20 consecutive weeks. Also an earlier CD of which both CD’s are available on all social media network such as iTunes, Amazon, CD Baby, ReverbNation to name a few. Now he has tag teamed with one of his prodiges Jermaine (J-Cole) Coleman and co-wrote and produced a Film mini-series “SOLOMON” that will grace the theaters soon.
