Jermaine L. Coleman, Sr. also known as “J.Cole” is originally from Gulfport, Mississippi. As a youngster “J.Cole” was very active in church and the community. Because of his sunny disposition on life and outgoing personality allowed “J.Cole” to win various “Youth Leadership Awards” and “Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Oratorical Speaking Competition Awards” to go along with him being crowned Mr. NAACP for the state of Mississippi in 1993 and would later on be named “All-Around Student” by the teachers and faculty of his high school, Harrison Central High.
As a former decorated United States Army solider “J.Cole” was able to unlock his comedic talents and clean humor while serving on active duty and entertaining highly ranked military officers and dignitaries, along with enlisted soldiers and their families as he did as a youngster when he would assemble all of his cousins in his grandmother’s backroom and stage his own comedy show by doing comedic impressions of his father, grandmother, uncles and other comical characters of his family. This new found comedic talent would later on allow for “J.Cole” to win several Presidential Awards and accommodations for comedy and entertainment while serving on active duty. After a successful tour of duty in the United States Army, “J.Cole stared, produced and co-wrote in various national stage plays and other national commercials. Throughout his comedy career “J.Cole” would visit various comedy clubs across the United States and entertain those in attendance with his unique emcee and hosting style of clean and family based comedic humor.
“J.Cole” is also one of many comedians who have had the opportunity to appear on early episodes of “BET’s Comic View” and also toured with the “Def Comedy Jam” comedy tour while they were in Europe. Throughout his career, “J.Cole” has opened and hosted various concert, comedy shows, and corporate events for some of the industry elite such as: Steve Harvey, Gerald Levert, The PEPSI South Beach Summer Tour 2007, MTV Jams Spring Break Pre-Party, Freddie Jackson, Dolemite, Destiny’s Child, Monique, OUTKAST, Ludacris, and Jamie Foxx (Just to list a few). “J.Cole” received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (Cum Laude status) and Masters in Educational Leadership and Principal Certification from Concordia Lutheran University in Austin, Texas where he graduated top of his class with “Cum Laude” status.
“J.Cole” has recently teamed up with one of his mentors (Dr. Curtis Dean) to former fierce a “Dynamic Duo” in which together they makeup “Cole-Dean Productions”. “J. Cole” is an actor, comedian, writer and producer with a powerful message, vision, an enthusiasm, … “Hey it’s your best friend J.Cole”!
